Garlic Chive Biscuit


Homemade biscuits are way easier then you would think and these Garlic Chive Biscuits will not disappoint! Serve them on their own or along side your favourite soup!

Thank you to Chef Jennie Silk for this recipe! The trick to perfect biscuits is to make sure your butter is cold and to fold and flatten your dough at least 6 times before cutting into your biscuit shape.

Jennie says you can easily switch up the flavours, so play with your favourite herbs and spices!

Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 Cup Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 6 Tbsp Donia Farms Butter
  • 5 Cloves garlic Roasted Until Soft
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Chives

Instructions
  1. Preheat Oven to 450. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl
  2. Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture with pastry cutter or two butter knives
  3. Make a well in the flour butter mixture and add the milk and garlic to the well.
  4. Mix gently with your hands until the dough starts to come together, then add the chives.
  5. Transfer dough to floured surface and shape into a disc.
  6. Fold and flatten the dough at least 6 times, maintaining a disc shape. The disc be about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut the disc into 12 equal triangles and place on baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops of each biscuit with milk and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 6 minutes, spin the tray and continue baking for an additional 4 to 6 minutes.
  10. Biscuits will be a golden brown when done. Enjoy!
