I can’t believe it has taken me THIS LONG to make whipped feta! It’s easy to make and pretty with a swirl of olive oil. Ease and aesthetically pleasing make it a win-win in my books! Eat it as a dip with buttery crackers or fresh bread, or use it as a spread on sandwiches.
There is a lot of variations to this simple recipe out there online. Ours is different because we add whipped cream to make it extra light and fluffy. To add some flavour and freshness, I mixed in some pesto. It’s topped with a drizzle of olive oil and red pepper flakes. You can play around with the toppings, try chopped sun-dried tomato and fresh herbs, or even hot honey!
Ingredients
Crumbled Feta Cheese
Pesto
Splash of Milk
Whipping cream
Olive Oil
Red Chilli Flakes
Instructions
-
In a food processor, add the crumbled Donia Farms Feta Cheese, pesto and a splash of milk. Blend, for two minutes. Stop and scrape the sides every 30 seconds to be sure everything is being incorporated. If the texture seems dry, add another small splash of milk.
-
Scrape the feta mixture into a bowl. In the same food pressor container, add the whipped cream. (There is no need to rinse it out, any left over feta will be mixed in.) Whip the cream until soft peaks form.
-
Transfer the whipped cream mixture to the feta mixture and mix gently until combined. Transfer the whipped mix to a serving dish. Next, top with a drizzle of olive oil and red chilli flakes.
